question about the diffrent grade of oil use.

this morning when my car's engine was cold i checked the oil dipstick. the oil level was a half of quart lower than what it suppose to be. i've been changing my oil with mobile1 synthetic 10w30 on every 6k but i mistakenly poured half quart of mobile1 5w30 in the engine instead. so is there anything to worry about at all?
note: why did my oil level went low does this indicate that my car burns oil. should i switch it back to regular oil or just continue pouring half of quart at every 4000k?
thanks in advance.

It could be low for many reasons. Just keep an eye on it for a while.

Dumping 1/2 quart of 5w30 isn't going to hurt anything.

As long as it is between the LO and HI mark your oil level is fine, meaning not too much or little to cause damage. And make sure your car is sitting level to get the best reading. If you want to experiment, throw in some Catrol GT-X at next oil change and see what happens. If that shows low after a few thousand miles, then you're def burning oil.

Mixing a little will do nothing. Dont worry.

whats the mileage on your engine out of curiosity ? keep an eye on it the nest few months after you have changed or topped it up.
