Car seems tired

My 2000 Maxima GLE seems to be low on power. I don't know where to start to try and find out what it is that is causing the car to be so slow. I just resently changed the plugs and coils and there is no SES light. Sorry for the short post, but I am at school and have to get back to class, I'll check back to the thread when I get home in a couple hours.

More than likely, you are having a Mass Air Flow problem, or an O2 sensor problem...

Problems like "My car seems low on power" are extremely difficult to diagnose. The truth is there are quite a few components that effect the car's power.

Once the maintanence things have been done (air filter changed, plugs changed, etc.), the MAF is usually the next culprit. However, a bad MAF sensor usually has more symptoms than just "loss of power", for example idle issues, reving issues, etc. While the MAF can cause power loss to a degree, it is usually so subtle that you won't notice and it builds over time. You're more likely to notice the power lost by the MAF after you replace it than before.

Cleaning out the throttle body may help, cleaning fuel injectors may help, maybe change the fuel filter? (don't know if this has anything to do with power)

Hard to say what the problem is without more info.

I did use the Maf cleaning spray. Not recommend to everybody.
Buy a new MAF and problem solved.

Ive tried it on my maf when i put a bit 2 much air filter oil on my k&n filter and it helped a little but i doubt it will give the same affect as a new maf

Yes you just take off the maf, spray it, and put it back on

Change the MAF. Throttle body cleaning MAY help a little. Are you experiening hesitation? If so at what RPM?

Oh yeah, I also resently replaced the rear O2 sensor.

Actually yes, usually around 3500-3800 and around 4500 then the car just seems to really be slow from there up.

I have the same problem as you and I believe it has to do with the MAF. Every post I have read about hesitation usually concludes with an MAF problem.

Hrmm... How much is a maf? Is there anything else that it could be besides the maf?

MAF's are usually around $80-100. You can get them through Dave B. or the nissan dealer. Besides that, there could be lots of other reasons why your car would feel "tired."
