Heater Core Flush, Please I Need Help

Ok i was ondering how to go about back flushing it, the haynes manual says for me to backflush it. Which hose do i put the garden hose through? The upper or the lower one?

Oh yeah any other input is appreciated on how to fix my heater. I have the regular climate control (not automatic) and when i turn the heat thing all the way over it just blows air no heat. I did what the haynes says about checking the hoses and they were both warm. So the next step is to backflush it and i dunno what they mean by back flushing. Any help is appreciated.

Im also guessing it would be wise to flush the hoses first then the core just in case there is a clog somewhere in one of the hoses.

Just disconnect both of those hoses going to the heater core (engine side), stick a water hose in it (line) and flush. So the hoses will be connected to the core still, just not going to the radiator side. Have a bucket ready to catch the fluid that is in the line prior to disconnecting.

Ok so it doesnt matter wich direction i get the water to flow?

Im guessing the hose that goes into the block is the line that pushes the water into the core.

Thx for replying

So if both tubes going the the heater core are hot once the car is warmed up and the fan is working correctly (you can feel air being blown out) then the temp acjustment flap must not be swinging open. I'm not exactly sure how the Maxi a set up, but your temp lever on you climate control adjusts a flap to regulate how mauch air comes from the heater core chamber or just from the outside. That flap must not be working for some reason.

Heater core is not going bad if you don't have an antifreeze leak and you are not overheating. It has to be that valve, which are usually a pain in the **** to fix and replace.
