tranny flush

I need my trans. drained and cleaned, but I want a pro to do it. If I take it to somewhere like AAMCO do you think that, they will do a good job, and could I use the ATF that I bring. I think Im gonna go with amsoil ATF. And should 6 bottles do?

Never brought my car to AAMCo so I can't tell you anything about that. But, they will probably have to use there ATF because it's usually attached to the machine they use to flush it. I could be wrong.

It's more like 11 qts for a full flush. Amsoil is wasted money IMHO, but you didn't ask. :-)

Drain & Refill is different than Flush - hopefully you are clear on the differences.

AAMCO may not be doing the flushes - when I went to them couple years back they only did Pan drop, drain, and refill - this does not get all the fluid out of the system.

I would go to a trany Flush shop - the cost is generally in the $69-79 range. Some will allow you to bring in your own Fluid, Mobil-1 synthetic ATF works good - does cost serious moola ($6 a quart) - you will need some 10-12 quarts to really flush the tranny.

I would go to the sTEALERship... Check for their specials, they sometimes have great offers. Even when they don't, its like $129. At least that's what it was for my wife's Sienna at the Toyo dealer. This is not something I would trust an Oil and Lube place with, this is something that should be done either by yourself (not a full drain) or by someone YOU TRUST.
