Yes, it is worth it. One of the chpeast and best mods for our cars. For reviews, installs...etc use the search.

They also offer a package deal of the RSB plus their titanium FSTB, for something like $299. Is that worth it? Does the FSTB REALLY need to be titanium?

It's indeed the best FSTB, but, IMO, strut bars just don't make enough difference in performance to justify spending that much money.

Thanks. So in your opinion, what brand/make of FSTB comes in second to the Cattman? In other words, if Cattman's titanium FSTB is overkill, and the $14.95 eBay ones break too easily, which FSTB is "The One" to buy?

The ebay one is the best bang for the buck, i have owned a few of these on all my cars.

I dont think anyone on the forum has had one break on them.

A strut bar doesnt do much like posed above , so the ebay one does the job well.

And thats a good deal for the sway bar, i think im gona have to find some cash and get one.

OTTO, if you can find one. (from reading a few recent threads, looks like it is not being made anymore)

You can also try to look for used Stillen bar. (identical to OTTO)) Unlike Cattman you can actually find one used because many people buy Stillen FSTBs for looks and then sell them for a lower price.

Custom Enterprise bar is also pretty good, not as good as two previously mentioned bars, but much better than those generic bars from ebay.

BTW, here's a my thread I have posted a while ago about FSTBs. You can find some useful info there as well. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=429840

IMO, I would not trust anything that one company has for $200 (cattman), another for $150 (Stillen). Paying 14.95 from ebay seems like too cheap to be any good.

There is a thread somewhere around here, where someone's ebay bar broke.

I've had my dual ti fstb from cattman for about three years now and I don't regret getting it. It was pricey but I want that look and I was willing to pay for it knowing I could get something less expensive that does the same thing.

Though pricey Cattman and Stillen make good products. Brian Catts is one of a few people who stays in touch with his customers and he will back his products. Give them a chance.

BTW - I apologize for recommending the Otto fstb. I thought ebay was the Stillen knock off.

I'd recommend you get the custom enterprise fstb, polished for $69. It should match your sterling mist. Unless you want the blue or red one for $49. Should be right in your price range.

Here's a pic of my cattman dual ti fstb.
Crap I just realized I'm Sorry guys.

The RSB and FSTB are the only mods I have on my 5th gen. Just like in my 4th gen, the RSB made a big difference in the way the car handles.

imo front lower tie bar and rear sway bar will do the most for your car. front and rear strut bar are more or less for looks. im sure they help a little but not as much as everyone things. but im sure if you did all four that would make an outstanding improvemnt

I found Custom Enterprise's web site. I think I'll order their polished FSTB for $69 (or their blue one for only $49). I notice they have a discount code box. Anyone know whether maxima.org has a discount code for them and if so what it is? Thanks!

I believe they offer free shipping for us and/or 5% off. But as far as I remember, you have to call them in order for you to get this discount.

BTW, calling them will also insure that they actually have the product in stock, and will most likely speed up the process.

Ordered my Progress RSB from Brian at Cattman monday afternoon and received it via DHL on Wednesday (Cattman is in Arizona and I am in Virginia, so obviously DHL over-performed). Will be installing it this weekend. I have a FSTB on order from Custom Enterprise.

I'm also taking my '03 6-speed in tomorrow for the hesitation TSB (reprogram of ECM). The dealer tried to tell me I would also need a new MAF but I declined. They said it'd be $90 without the new MAF. Hopefully it will all go smoothly tomorrow.

In terms of handling feel.. the RSB is BY FAR the best mod I've done so far.. I still wonder why they didnt put it on the car stock it gave me so much more confidence around the corners even with stock springs it was great.

Everything else I did is good too but none of it was nearly as cheap as the RSB

See other recent thread re FSTB where the Custom Enterprise FSTB was ID'd as a good alternative to Otto. Those babies are on sale for a mere $49 each (if you get red or blue in lieu of polished which they are out of, but who cares since you can't see it while driving). I ordered a red one and can't wait for it to arrive!

BTW, Cattman's price on the Progress RSB is currently $109 - an excellent price on a quality piece.

I have the red CE FSTB, and I love it. Didn't care for the color originally then I went with a slight red engine theme. Anyways, back on topic, RSB from what I've heard is the ultimate suspension mod for our cars. I'm waiting to get mine.

Crap.. Wish I would have read this earlier.
The RSB gets in today. Will install tomorrow.
But the CE FSTB I could have ordered and gotten by today as well. They are a mere 35 minutes from me.

Wonder if I can pick up?

Update::: They don't have a store front and only ship UPS. So, I will have to do the RSB tomorrow and this on Monday when it comes in... Ordered the Blue, they are out of the Silver ones.

Just installed my Progress RSB from Cattman tonight and I must admit it improved the handling. The car's handling still feels a bit sloppy, especially over bumps in turns, but this RSB helps with overall balance, making it feel like the rear tires are doing more work. It isn't tossable or anything but is worth the cost of the bar ($109 + shipping from Cattman).

I can't wait to get the FSTB and install that (Custom Enterprise). That should tighten up the front just a bit. What I think the front end really needs is some H&R springs. Maybe next Spring....

Sorry, I don't know anything about that product, but for $50 why not order a brand new, quality FSTB on sale at Custom Enterprise?

I bought mine off egay for $20. When I got it, it was a nice polished strut bar that had Courtesy Nissan etched on the bar. I thought I was getting a knock off brand, but it's held up perfectly for over 2 yrs now. Best $20 well spent on this car yet.

Illumina Strut Length?

Does anybody know if Tokico Illuminas are shorter than OEM? The Tokico HP shocks are the same as OEM and don't work well with shorter springs, even with the bump stops trimmed way back (frequent bottoming). I have these shocks and Eibach springs, a crappy setup, and I'd like to go to Illuminas if I can confirm the length is shorter than OEM. Stillen has been less than helpful on this.
