Wheel Bearing Issue?

So i was making a left off of my street today and stopped at a red light. When it turned green, i lightly pressed on the gas and heard a loud pop, which sounded like it came from the rear suspension. Then i heard a light grinding sort of sound here and there so i turned around and went home. After driving it up and down my street, there is a slight whirring sound. Also, when completely stopped and stepping lightly on the gas i hear the grinding sound for a second. Could this be a bad wheel bearing? I only have 45k miles!

thanks

Also when looking at the rear left tire, it looks slightly cocked inward. Could be my imagination though

Jack your car up and see if you can move the wheel inward and outward by pushing on the top of the wheel. It should not move.

also when the car is up in the air spin the wheel and look for any wobble. I had a bent hub on the rear that was causing the bearing to make noise. Found a used one in the junk yard for $60.00 all is good now.

On the rears the bearing is built into the hub so you have to replace the whole thing. Most likely its a bad bearing from what you describe as the wheel alignment it seems you losta bearing race or the hub it bent.

well after about 4 days I haven't had any problems at all and no more noises. The noise was gone after a few hours. I jacked up the car and checked each wheel for play but they were all fine. Ill keep a close eye on it though, and if anything else happens I'll have her looked at
