Knocking and Pinging Noise

Like my earlier posts, I've tried everything to get rid of this annoying problem. I finally changed my spark plugs and went with a cooler platinum plug that I ordered from Courtesy Nissan. So far so good!!! The pinging noise is almost completely gone. I was ready to trade my car in because of this. But now I couldn't be happier in my Max. I'm again in love with the my car!!

Man, i tried almost everything to fix this issue and in the end i can say it's much better, but i still hear this ....ing noise, so don't know what else i should do... I switched to Shell V-power Racing(100 octane), made the advanced timing, replaced 2 differential bearings, which where shot and i think i hear now just the pinginig(probably knocking is gone)...
On friday i'll let the dealer replace my spark plugs - NGK PFR6G-11 with PFR7G-11(coldest type), so i hope it will be better after that... Probably i should replace the coils as well...

Excuse my English and good luck!

I had SERIOUS pinging problems on my Zetec engine in the past... I know how frustrating and annoying it is... It drove me crazy as well...

Now on the Maxima, I have to be honest: I havent even pushed the car hard enough to even check if there is a pinging problem... I dont even want to know... the way I am driving right now I hear no pinging...

I was told having the timing advance could make the car knock & ping more. You might want to have the timing reduce back to factory specs....

another thing you have to think about is that pinging may be a couple things, but mostly that the engine is running too hot, and you may have a fuel problem. When you start running lean, theres not enough fuel in the engine, and it heats up.

Yes, i know that, but even before i did the advanced timing, i already had this knocking problem..., so the source of this issue has to be something else...
Rattling was absolutely same before and after the AD...!

This sounds logical to me, so can you clarafy what exactly may cause the problem...!? I saw someone talking about a bad thermostat... at a similar thread...!?? Otherwise, my engine has a normal and constant operating temperature all the time...
This seems to be a common issue and i wonder why Nissan haven't made a recall or something...
Thanks guys!

If it's "pinging", or detonation that you're hearing, the causes of that are carbon deposits, overheating, running too low of octane, and a malfunctioning EGR valve

It's a specific rattling sound coming out just under acceleration between 1700 - 2200rpm noticable when i'm going up hills... The noise is something like small pieces of metal flying/banging in the engine... Usually it hapens when the car is warmed up after driving more than 10miles and everytime when i hear that supid sound - my car looses power...
Thx

I used to get that too...but Its gone...for now!

Is there any fuel additive that can be used to clean carbon deposits?
