Overspray.......
Hey folks. First, let me say I found this board about a month ago, about a week before we bought my wife's 2001 SE (5spd). I've found some great info here! Anyway on to my problem.
While driving into the sun, we noticed a bunch of "specks" on her windshield. I figured with a good washing, they would clean off. Nope. After a closer look, we figured out it was over-spray from when the dealer was repairing two small scrached in the front bumper.
I've tried using Turtle Wax Bug & Tar remover, and that seemed to help a little, but some specks still remain. I noticed on the long washing thread, someone mentioned using a fine steel wool on the windows to really get them clean. My initial thought was that would scratch the glass. Not true? Should I use Windex with the steel wool? I picked up some 0000 steel wool this morning to give it a shot.
Who out there has tried this? Thanks for any advice.
BTW, it was a sweet ride the two times I've been able to pry the key's from my wife's hand!
