indoor/outdoor thermo & power seats q's

I have an early 2k maxima SE 5spd. I have a indoor/outdoor car thermometer, and I am looking for a way to keep it in my dash (I upgraded the stereo, so I have a little pocket now), so I need a way to put the sensor outside of the car (not close the window on the cord anymore), and to clip the 12V cig. lightr adapter, and wire it directly into car. Could anyone point out good locations for that?
Also, while looking for access, and at the inside fuse box, I did notice the heated seats fuse location had a fuse in it. I looked under the seat, and there are plenty of wires down there, there is something definitely connected together, and one connector just hanging there. Are the options for heated seats there, they just needed to be hooked up? I bet even some of the power seat options are there as well, but I would need diff rails, motors, buttons, etc. to make that work. My assumption that heated seats usually only came with leather, but I could be wrong, I did buy my Max in July 1999. The 17" wheels weren't even available with the convenience package yet, consequently I didn't get it, but got a moonroof as dealer installed option.
Any help would be helpful... didn't see anything in the How to area.
Thanks,
JimL

You should place your outside thermosensor in the front facia (bumper). Search for the How-To install for a auto dimming/temp rear view mirror. It will show you the route of the temp wire. I believe it goes through the drivers side firewall, the routes to the lower part of the front bumper attached close to the a/c condensor. Not sure if the wire you have is long enough.
It's easy to convert that 12v plug to hardwire it. Just clip the adaptor, and splice the wires into an existing wire and/or fuse adaptor.
