**p0172**
About a week ago I turned on my 2000 maxima se and i got a check engine light. My freind has a code reader so i went over to his house to check it out. We got a p0172 code. Check it out on the forum and found this
Possible causes include ...
- Intake air leaks
- Defective Front Heated Oxygen Sensor
- Fuel injectors
- Exhaust gas leaks
- Incorrect fuel pressure
- Lack of fuel
- Faulty Mass Air Flow Sensor
I replaced my maf (the one on the intake) about a 2 monthes ago so I hope it wasn't that. I've been getting 16.5mpg city driving. The code went away by itself with out being cleared, but when i needed a maf and my car wouldn't start I never got a check engine light so I don't trust that. What should i do???

good luck finding the problem. I had the same problem when I had my max. changed maf and front oxygen sensors. I didn't think it was the maf but I changed it anyway. After I put the sensors on, I drove it for two weeks and the CEL light came back on. same thing P0172. do a search and you'll find a few threads about it. I don't guess anyone has come up with a solution unless they just kept it to themselves. I traded my max in because I need a truck. good luck finding the problem.
