Upgrading needed!

Sup, I like my Max GLE 2000 (its my first one) but it's not sporty enuf for me (thinking about replacing it with something that handles more like a sports car) at the moment. What could I possibly do to tune up mine to make it more of a performance MAX. My budget for this future project is about 1 grand.

are you saying you have zero clue about any kind of performance? this has been asked so many times..
i'll give you the one that everyone will say to you; get an aftermarket y-pipe for increased power;
if you are looking for increased handling, i'm sure you should have SOME idea

Performance Route: I'd say Intake/Headers/Y-Pipe should be close to the grand area.

Suspension Route: FSTB (Otto), RSB, Eibachs + Illuminas, Motor Mounts and if you can find one, LTB (Blehmco)

This is my first maxima 2000 GLE (bought it months ago), and yes I do have a clue about performance parts in general but since I've never owned a maxima I wanted to get recommendations from my fellow maxima club members (with out plowing thru every post) who have a great deal more expertise than I do when it comes to Maximas and imports in general. I don't want to go spending money half cocked, thats why I posted my question to the club. There are many web-sites out there, as are many opinions which can be confusing to those of us who are new the nissan maxima experience. If anyone has any "tried and true" web sites that they would highly recommend purchasing nissan maxima parts from or any suggestions on basic performance improvements, please forward them to me. (Wanna protect myself from getting ripped off). Thanks.
