Another Stolen Headlight NJ area - But this one is interesting....

So yesterday morning, we realized that our car's driver side headlight was missing, and there was a blatant attempt at the passenger side. Again, my car has the Datadots recall from Nissan, with the new brackets, etc.

Well, the theif had to be an amateur. First of all, they stole the headlight, with the bulb inside. fine. When I look underneath the bracket that hides the ballast, guess what. I see a ballast. So - basically, this theif just stole a drivers side headlight, and didn't even take the whole thing. Now, I'm stuck with a $500 bill for Geico, and about a weeks wait to get my car back.

This really sucks,.

this is weird as **** but the same thing happened to my friend here in FL he got both Headlights stolen with bulbs yet the dirty rats that did it left the ballast. I think it might be these thieves are so stupid they don realize they only taking the bulbs.

That is part of the Datadot thing. They relocated the ballasts.

yup, datadot relocated it slightly. They bracket is there, but it looks like they just didnt know what they were doing. You can see the ballast, but its a little harder to remove.

Don't these criminals have better things to do? So sorry to hear of another loss to that kind of thing. Its not fair you end up paying higher premiums as a result etc.

Better park your car somewhere else in the future. Maybe the bastards will be back again after they realize their folly...or after reading these posts.
