Headlights & HIDs

Hey, what's up guys? Just so you don't start off asking why i'm even looking at these headlights because my profile says i have an i30, that is correct. and the reason for me looking at these lights is for my best buddy who doesn't have an account here.

I just have one question for the people out there that already have them installed:
These are the headlights, and he'd like to buy them...

He's wondering if HIDs will fit them. To be more specific, 7k Helios.

Why not? If you get an HID conversion kit made for whatever bulb the 5th gens take, than no problem. The only question is what kind of glare this will cause since the housings are not designed for HID.

A cheaper way would be to do the AE mod and rub off the chrome on the old headlights......wet sand the lens, plastic polish and it'll be brand new. If you buy an H4 kit, get the shield as well, it'll cut off the HID glare without affecting the light output.
