OBX headers and y-pipe question

It's not stated anywhere in the 5th Gen / 5.5 Gen Header Thread. But I had a few questions. I've been looking around for headers. And the cattman and hotshot headers are out of my price range. I know stone racing/xspower/ssautochrome products suck. So my question is I found these headers and y-pipe which a price inbetween stone racing and cattman.

OBX racing headers and y pipe $330.00

Does anyone have these on their car?

They are equal lenght headers, the only thing I see wrong with them is the rear header when it connects to the y-pipe it looks like its going towards the front headers.

They suck, just look at where and how the rear collector connects to the y-pipe.... there will definitely be a ton of turbeulence in the flow.

That is precisely what is wrong...

They have longer tubes than the stockers, but they aren't equal length, this is equal length (notice the loops to "equate" the front and rear bank collectors):

Yeah, sorry, should've posted whose pictures I used.

Cattman: mine

Hotshots: whazzzuup

Btw, do they still look that way? Or have they dulled a little? Not that I care what things look like under the car. Just curious.

Have you seen these? They appear to be designed much better than earlier versions ...

I don't mind in the least! I was under the car to install my sway bar over the past weekend and the headers looked the same, but were dirty. I am sure that jet-coating will protect the metal for a long time to come.

The sound wouldn't be a concern when the car is shaking because of the product! That's horrible.

Go to the BBB and see all the negative rsponses and POOR quality of these things. I wish the .org would make a stickey so these threads don't start. I hate ss autochrome, obx, etc... you get what you pay for, and IMO cattman's are worth more than you pay... cattman is incredible.

I really think you should just save the extra money to get a quality product (Cattman/Hotshot). You'll make more power for that money. You won't have to deal with the quality-induced problems down the road. All in all, you will be happier with the purchase if you do it right the first time. It might cost even less in the long run. If you are looking for power gains, and absolutely cannot exceed $300, just buy a quality y-pipe and call it a day. IMO, quality and fitment means the most to me, rather it be in terms of performance or appearance.

Depends... are you going to upgrade again when you find out you want Cattmans or Hotshots? Are you going to do the install yourself or pay someone to do it? If the latter, fitment issues may increase the costs of install. Have you considered potential durability issues? Corrosion? There are so many other things to consider. If you think it is worth it to you, go for it.

Yeah, I can't believe I let this thread live for so long, considering how many other ones are already out there.
