Alignment Question
Alignment Question
So my car was hit while it was parked. Some A**hole probably hit it pulling out of the driveway.
Anyway cosmetic damage aside, my wheel alignment (I think that's what it is) is screwed up. In order for the car to go straight my steering wheel is like 30 degrees clockwise! But also when I turn it all the way counter-clockwise (to the left) and try to make a turn, I hear some loud grinding/screatching/noise. Anu1 have a clue what this could be? Is it that I simply need a wheel alignment and the cause of the screatching is because the wheels are going passed then what they are supposed to go? Any help?

well the wheel is probably rubbing against something...thats probably why its making that noise
go get an alignment...that should fix it...if it doesn't, the shop will tell you what needs to be replaced...

in my area, its more like 40 to 60...i've seen SOME in the 65-70 range....i would never pay $80 for a 2 wheel alignment....overkill if you ask me...besides, shops should know maximas only have toe adjustments in the front...shouldn't be paying more than $50 for toe adjustment...so little work is involved...
The suspension stoppers usually make that noise when turning all the way at low speeds. Just put some bearing grease. I's a bolt that sits on the hub and when turned all the way it makes contact with the control arm atopper. Normal. Try lubing that first.
And to fix the alignment there is a free way. Go to a parking lot, pull the steering wheel opposite to the side it sits uncentered. Turn it all the way and give it a little tuyg. It will get back top normal haha. But just don't hammer the steering wheel Just a little bit and it should come back.
Alignment is the proper way
