oil pan ?gasket? leak
It's all RTV sealant. Are you talking about the steel (lower) oil pan or the upper alum. oil "pan". If you think it's a leak at the upper pan splitline with the block and you plan to remove the upper oil pan then that is not a job for the faint of heart. If you think that the leak is from the upper one then I suggest that you absolutely double check and are 100% sure that it isn't coming from above and running around the edge "simulating" a leak there. Or a crankshaft/drive pulley seal, front cover, a camshaft cover (they've been cracking) or even the oil cooler. Leaks on these engines at these RTV sealed joints are quite rare, although I had a leak on a Ford Duratec front cover because of a 1" long void in the RTV that I finally found (after initially being sure that it was the pan/block splitline) that I was able to fix by adding RTV externally to that spot.
