questions about 300zx bbk
I'm going to a junkyard soon and I was wondering what year 300zx do I need to get the 30mm calipers from. And what all do I need to get? Calipers, rotors and brackets? And I;m going to buy the brake lines and brackets from jeff.

I'm also looking to get a set of z32 calipers. I'm going with the 30mm Aluminum calipers since their are lighter than the 30mm Iron calipers.
From what I read the Aluminum ones are from 90s-92.5 and the Iron ones are from 92.5-96.

The aluminum ones doesn't weight that much different than the iron ones. 91 - 96 TT calipers are 30 mm. NA 26 mm
oreilly sometime carries the rebuilt ones. they cost 70 + 50 core a piece.
part number 19-1400 (left) and 19-1399 (right) you'll need pads for sure if you get the calipers that come with pads throw those away it will cause problems later with the noise and such.
I have 2 sets of 30mm aluminum that should be rebuilt and a a complete 26mm front and rear from a 94 na Z.

they ONLY used the 26mm aluminum calipers on the 90 NA model..
they used 30mm aluminum calipers on the 91-93 NA and 90-93 turbo.
they switched to 30mm iron calipers after 9/93 production (basically 94 model year change) due to and spongy pedal issues, which aren't a problem on a Maxima that weighs several hundred pounds less.
If you have 26mm aluminum calipers on a 94 NA model, then someone swapped that stuff out before you got the car. it's pretty common, as the aluminum calipers are several pounds lighter than the iron ones.
and good luck getting a set of calipers from oreilly's. they're on national backorder and are often junk. I've bought a few of them over the years and had to return about 30% of them due to leaking seals or bent mounting tabs, or the calipers were just beat to hell and back. I had a pair that looked like they were dragged down a gravel road on a chain for a few miles, then packed in a box. no thanks.

You want the 30mm versions. Either in steel or aluminum. But the al is quite a bit lighter. Hell, they are way lighter than the stock oem single piston maxima caliper.
From me, you need the brackets and centering rings. Since you have a 5-gen, you will need to enlarge one set of bracket holes to the next size. You will also need to get one more set of bolts/nuts/washers from a fastener store in the same or better strength grade.
Buy the rotors from Automax in the GD forum.
Buy the proper ss lines from Matt93se
Read THIS for all the 300zx caliper info you would ever want:

The "26mm Aluminum" calipers were used ONLY on 1990 non-turbos. They used a 280mm x 26mm rotor.
The "30mm Aluminum" calipers were used on 1990 Twin-turbos and ALL 1991-1992.5 300ZX's (both turbo and non-turbo alike). They used a 280mm x 30mm rotor.
The "30mm Iron" calipers were used on ALL 1992.5-1996 300ZX's (both turbo and non-turbo alike). They also used the 280mm x 30mm rotor.
So will any and all of them work or is there one specific one that I have to get?

Depends, are you planning on doing the just the Z32 swap or a true BBK? IF your doing the BBK then you will need the 30mm.
I Hope your wheels clear....

so its recommended to use the 30mm calipers in either alum. or iron?
also I'll explain what i'm planning on doing and you guys can tell me if it is the right thing.
I want to use 30mm calipers either iron or aluminum which ever ones I can get.
I also want to use the stock 300zx rotors and get them milled 4 mm.
(what exactly does milling 4mm off the rotors mean?) Is it the outer most perimeter of the rotor has to get cut down 4mm?
I also plan on getting the brake lines and brackets from jeff.
I believe I have to get wheel spacers so my rims will clear the calipers. They are 18 inch rims with a 42mm offset
Also I think I have the front figured out if there is anything im missing please let me know.
I would also like to do the rear but I dont know too much about that.
Can someone inlight me about the rear.

Using the 300zx rotors you WILL NOT NEED brackets, just the conversion brake lines.
YOU WILL have to cut/remove the heat sheild and grind down the outer edge of the contol arm or the rotors will rub when you turn and put a nice groove in the rotor.
Rear conversion will be $$$$$

jeff what would you like me to take a picture of?
flava you are saying if i use 30mm calipers and mill the stock 300zx rotor I dont need the caliper relocation brackets. I just need the brake lines.
I'll have to remove the heatsheild. And then I have to grind down the lower control arm.

Yup, the relocation brackets are used to move the caliper outward to meet the rotors when using the larger rotors on the true BBK's
