My CAR is Having a hard time starting

When I turn the key to restart my car after it has been driven for 30 minutes or more, the rpm falls to zero and then the car shuts off (It goes back to the stage where all the lights appear on the dashboard.)
When I turn the key again, it starts fine.
The car has 133 K. SES light is not ON so I can’t get it diagnosed.

Please help ASAP.

You CAN get it diagnosed. Go to Autozone and get any codes that might be there. Your SES light DOES NOT need to be on to have codes.

Do you have any mods?

My car does the same thing. I usually just give it a little gas and it starts right up. It never happened until I threw on my berk intake.

I'll check out Autozone and post the code here sometime this week. Thanks.

No Mods. Just powerslot rotors which I don't think has to do anything with this. I'm thinking Starter but I could be wrong.

Its not the starter for me. I just replaced it not too long ago.

It actually starts up and then dies right? It might not be the starter.

Sounds like battery or alternator. Take it to walmart or somewhere similar, they can diagnose your electrical system.

Thanks Guy.

Example of what happens:

If I go downstairs and turn the key, the car starts fine. If I drive half a mile to the gas station, then shut off my car to put gas and then when I turn the key to start the car, the car starts up and then dies one second later. The rpm falls to zero then it shuts off (lights stay ON on the dashboard.) Then I turn the key again to start the car.

Crud in the TB at the throttle and/or a slow responding throttle actuator, possibly caused by the crud. Just an idea, because with the Gen. 5's cable actuated throttle you can actually feel the throttle sticking sometimes when the TB gets gummed up at the throttle plate.

I was gonna say sounds more like fuel delivery if the car starts fine the first time and then subsequent starts while warm you get the problem..... (at least in my experience)

That rings a bell.
Can a bad sensor be causing all this? I had P138 before my mechanic cleared the code.

Please advice.

BTW. By the way, I live in Beacon not that far from Pawling.

needs a throttle body, re-man throttle bodies are available at 50% of the cost of new throttle bodies. then you have to have idle reset at a dealership.

Is it dangerous to drive like this?

I'll give the Heated 02 Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 2 (p138) a shot first. Autozone has it for $72.99.
How difficult is to install this sensor?

I also saw a univeral sensor on ebay for $25.00. Can someone please point me to the right direction. Check out the links below.

p0138 there are a few procedures as per the fsm, no bulletins for 03...if it boils down to the o2 needing replacing, get it from autozone, the universal one is a PITA to wire.

your stalling condition sounds like a throttle body.

I hope its not throttle body. STAR Nissan quoted me $597.

Should I not drive this car at all until fixed?
Is it dangerous on the highway?

This car has to go soon and become down payment for 07 G35 4SD.
I can't believe the book value for my car is less than $10000.00
