Hello there I have a question. I am looking for 5th gen max and want the 2001 20th AE. I was at the dealer and they have one its grey luster with about 80k on it and asking 11,800. Is this worth the price? I have a 97 max that I will trade in and would definitly try to talk them down. It's an auto wich is fine. Is there anything else I need to know about the AE max. Good bad? Thanks guys.

 

Thats not a bad deal coming from the dealer. Just test drive it and see if ANYTHING is wrong with it. Make sure you get a CarFax report as well.

The price is high. it should go for around 8 grand to 9 grand. dealer prices are always higher than private sales but $11,800 is too much for 01 max with 3.0 engine. keep your 97 for another few years OR go look for 2002+ 3.5L models you will find one under 12 grand. by the way if you buy MAXIMA make sure you keep around $2000 on side to replace multiple sensors because they go bad very often and cost alot to replace. I am still regreting after buying 01 maxima i have spent nearly 2 grand on electrical issues. I suggest get a toyota or honda. good luck!
