Tranny problem

For some reason my tranny is kicking itself out of 6 gear. It will do it up mild acceleration or hard acceleration. If i'm of the gas it will stay in gear though. it only does this in 6 gear. I also noticed that when holding the shifter i can feel it moving back and forth when i accelerate and let off. I hope it just a motor mount, and/or tranny mount. Has anyone else experienced this?

Generally that sort of thing is a syncro problem.

but be warned if it is in fact a syncro problem and you continue to drive it more and more metal shavings will work themselves into the actual gears of the transmission and it will need to be replaced.

Guesstimate right now is somewhere around 7-10 hours labor + around $100 in parts. (Could be worse depending on severity of damage to other parts.)

wow that sucks.

I don't know much about 6-speed but did you see the shifter bracket? I see a lot of problems from that on the .org

I know what the problem is... ITS SLOW lol mine comes out of first without pushin in the clutch from wheel hop sometimes. The syncro should lock it in gear but u know how our trannys are. We both have been through one. 3 solutions.. one get a altima tranny, less power loss.. two don't use it, cuz ur the only person i know that runs from 1-2-4-6, or three race me until you break it SEE ME!!!
