5-speed detents?

5-speed detents?

I noticed on occasion 4th gear will pop out when I'm not holding it. There's really no retaining pressure in 3rd and 4th gear if you shut the engine off.

Is this a matter of adjustment or did something break in the tranny?

Nope. Do you "hold onto" the shifter **** as you drive to save time til the next shift?

p.s. You likely need new synchros.

I've never had that problem.
I've also read that it's best not to hold onto the **** when you are driving, only when you have to shift.

Never experienced the issue either... I do feel the shift shakes are just annoying, but from what I hear IT's NOrmal.

That's a bad habit. It's a shifter, not an armrest.
