The time has come...

Well, after about 2.5 years with my maxima, the time to let her go is upon us. The miles are getting up there, the car is squeaking and rattling and just isnt the same anymore, so within the next few months, maybe even sooner, ill have something else.

I loved my maxima, it was by far the best car i ever had. The power was great, and weaving in and out of traffic in '3' with the sound of my Cattman growling was great, even a friend with a Magnaflow on his Frontier said the sound was wicked. I loved the evil, low look of the front end, with the MT lip, smoked headlights, and eyelids. The boucing sway of the titanic-sized body didnt help things much, but it was still well worth the price of admission.

So even though im not gone yet, i wanted to thank everyone for their help with everything, from adjusting to installing to purchasing. Guys like Joel, irish, sooner, nilesh, don (especially don, haha) have helped me out a lot.

Yes, everything will be up for sale soon. Jeff/burnurass has spoken for some things already, but the lips, exhaust, wheels, eyelids, etc will be up for sale as soon as they are taken off. So again, thanks for everything guys, at least my max will be immortalized in The Great Picture Thread.

Nice to have Maxima's like yours around! One of the cleanest 5th gen's, sad to see you part it out.

Burnurass has spoken to you about some things, does that mean I can call "dibs" on your cattman rear section?

thanks guys, its nice to hear good things about my car.
OOmax, you can call dibs on the cattman rear, but i dont have any way to affordably ship that, so that might be an issue.

thanks nilesh, you may be getting a call bout my suspension sooner than you think

lowincash, thanks for compliments, a few people have told me that, that my maxima inspired them to start modding theirs, and Jeff told me not to be modest, but i still got inspiration of my own, from guys like Hamy, i just went my own direction with it.

yeah the TBSS has a 6.0 monster in it, 395 hp/400 lb ft, so it will be a brutally fast gas guzzler, but i think i will love it.

It's really sad to see you go. I have to say you have one of the cleanest and most tastefully modifed Maximas (you and housecor) on the org / that I have seen in real life.

I wish you the best of luck in your persuit of a new vehicle. I'm sure it will be modded in the same classy way your Maxima was. Good luck.

My favorite 5.5gen of all time ! I remember having it as my background for a good 3-4 months. Sucks to see it go

Good luck with your next purchase.

By the way... check out my signature, your max is in there

really guys, thanks for all the nice things everyone is saying about my car. hopefully my TBSS will have the same impact in the community (moreso than i even realized) that my maxima did here.

I would possibly be interested in selling the whole car, which still has an extended 100,000 mile warranty on it (im under 70k now) with all the mods, but the price i sold it for would have to include the amount of money i could get selling my mods off piece-by-piece. of course discounted slightly in favor of the convenience for me.

Sad to see a nice max and nice guy go....but happy to see that you're not getting a bandwagon car (wow, someone with independent thought!!!).

When I was deciding to get a newer maxima, I was looking through pictures of different gens and I came across yours and I made my decision right then and there. Got to be one of the best maximas I've ever seen. Sad to see it go, but it left a great lasting impression on me

I recommend the Subaru Legacy 2.5GT Limited. You will be pleasently surprised..

That's definitely my next car.

I had to let mine go after about 37 months. It was sad and I do miss it. I would have never said this before, but if you see the new altima on the road I gotta admit it is nicer looking than the max and has more power and just about every other feature. The G is always nice as well....I got a truck cause I was sick of sitting low etc....i really love it, but I do miss the max...i would hands down get the altima over it nowadays though...the backend of the alt is freakin nice and the front is the same as the new max....

i looked into the Subbie 2.5GT, but the luxuriousness just wasnt there for me. i know most are thinking that a TBSS isnt really all that luxurious, especially compared to an A6 2.7T, but with dual zone auto climate, power pedals, leather and suede, and all the options in the DIS center, it really does fit a lot of my needs. no rear heated seats, but i can live with that.
