Anybody ever heard of Lightspeed? I saw an FSTB from them for less than $40, and wondered if it was any good.

Didn't someone say that Cattman had one for under $50 also?

I thought Lightspeed only made stuff for Hondas and Acuras. If you look on their website there is no mention of parts for Maximas. Seems kind of strange to me. If I were you I'd save your pennies and get a Courtesy or Stillen.

Watch out with them...they are selling one that's the same thing as the one in Curtesy Nissan...they say it's Stillen FSTB, but if you read their whole add...it says it's a Stillen "Replica". Kinda sneaky if you ask me.

But it is cheap...if it's of quality...

Yeah, that's the one I meant. I e-mailed the guy to ask him a question, and got a response that I think can only be taken as rude.

Sounds like the Courtesy one is for me.

I just bought this one, i haven't had a chance to test fit it yet though. At first glance, it looks like we need to do some cutting...

The cattman one is 65 + shipping, and you also need to do a little metal cutting

Can someone scan in the Stillen FTSB install instructions? I want to see what bracket needs to be repositioned.

Thanks

The sensor that needs to be repositioned is called the "Swirl control valve/control vacuum check switch". It's located on page EC-28 of the ESM. It's a cylindrical valve that sits inside a white bracket near the driver's side strut tower. The bracket is oriented above its holder. Your goal is to turn the bracket upside down and reattach the valve underneath it.

The easiest way to accomplish this is to remove the control valve from its bracket (it just pulls out), remove the bracket from its holder attached to the airbox brace (reach underneath the bracket, pinch the retaining clips together, and pull straight up), turn the bracket upside down and reinsert it into the holder, and put the control valve back inside the bracket.

If you do something stupid like I did and break a retaining clip off the bracket when you try to remove it, throw the bracket away, get a zip tie and zip tie the body of the valve underneath the hole left behind in the airbox brace. Believe me, that will work just fine.
