They are sold on e-bay... but they are of terrible quality. It is advised that you stay away from them.

That will be even worse. Those projectors are not designed for HID light. However, you could do an HID retrofil with some Bosch e46 projectors. From pictures I have seen, it seems like a pretty straight forward retro.

Either buy 5.5 stock headlamps or retrofit HID projectors in whatever you have. Ebay projectors suck azz.

They are great for a projector retrofit but if you leave them as is, then they suck. In terms of material quality, they felt just like my oem headlights other than the cheap bulb sockets.

It means the projector in the eBay headlights have horrible light output. But swapping in a better projector, you will have drastically improved lighting. If you are not going to modify the headlight, do not get the eBay ones, their output is worse than factory.

projector lights suck

I bought some on ebay and can't get the beams adjusted. They are available at custommaxima.com which are better quality.

If you want the look without the function, go ahead and get the eBay ones. If you actually care about function, get those and swap the projector. Look up Dr. Roy's cardomain for his DIY guide.

What Chrome is saying is that the ebay projector headlights are perfect for retrofitting. All you have to do is replace projector with a better one (bosch or MDX) and create a custom harness. Other retrofits require complex fabrication of the headlight assembly to make look right and work correctly.

okay...whats everyone saying is that Ebay ones suck ****...and that is true, i was going to buy them but I decided not to after some research BTW: you should def. search the org there are A LOT OF THREADS on this topic...but here is the thing "ebay projector headlights suck...you can buy them for 200 bucks and buy new Projectors from some on HIDplanet or w/e else you can get them, and you take the Projectors out of those headlights from ebay and put new ones in (it takes some work man, so if you are scared to do that kind of work STAY AWAY FROM RETRO FITTING.....But I went the other way, I bought 02/03 headlights..(that look really good on 00/01 maximas) and YES 02/03 maximas' have HIDs so yes you can have Hids in them and I think that is what you are looking for...OEM hid bulbs are 4300K which is not as BLUE as some of the other HIDs are...but it does have the best output (you can see really well)...but you can also upgrade to 6000k or 8000k to make it look really blue/purple...

good luck man

whats so bad about the ebay projector headlight? is it because the low beam uses a micro h3 bulb? so you guys are saying if you do buy the ebay projector headlight you should retro fit them with projectors from another car.

Yes. Output of the H3 projectors are really bad. Projectors are suppose to spread light equally throughout the beam pattern but the h3 projectors divides the beam into three pencil type beams.

Bitar, if you area feeling really brave you can mount projectors from a TSX or e46 directly into your current headlights. It is challenging if it will be your first time. It will give you the terminator look.

It has nothing to do with the bulb it is more the cheap projector glass they use. It reflects the light terribily. The cutoff is equalily terrible. The best approach is to buy the housings if you like the look then get some e46, mdx, or murano projectors they are a pretty close fit and they will cause the least amount of headache. If you are in to fab work then you can go for some tsx, or s2000 projectors and retro those in. THey are widely known as the best on the market. It should be noted though that when you are retrofitting into the ebay projectors you still purchase a hid kit because stock ebay housings only come with halogen bulbs. It is very straight forward install and wiring. So here is a chewcklist of items:

1)buy a set of halogen projector headlights off ebay Sample link HERE.

2)Buy a set of aftermarket projector housings of ebay Sample link HERE

3)Get a HID kit Sample Link here

4)Time and patience.

Good luck and hope this helps. It should be noted I am not endorsing these products just using as examples.

honestly, it sounds like you have no business touching your headlights whatsoever.......please step away from the car. This is pretty basic stuff.

in my case, i already have the retrofitted projectors with hids, but what would the process be in upgrading to a brighter hid light/bulb if that is the way it would work?

Well the closer you get to 4300k natural sunlight spectrum the light is going to be brighter. But your post is still a little cryptic. That is great you already have HID retrofited in the projectors but you are still using halogen projectors with hid bulbs. I am thinking the output would be terrible. You would really benefit from just retrofiting some hid projector lens. It will clean up the light and greatly increase your output. Alos, you will get greater color from your bulbs because of the higher quality of the projectors.

YOu can make them brighter by using better projectors, overloading the ballst to go above 35watts by modding, or by modifying the projector itself such as swapping afrosted lense to a clear lense.

projector retrofit is the way to go main reason i got tsx projector retrofit (besides the superior light output) is the color on the cutoff. i love watching it when i'm driving behind cars and see it change colors lol from white to blue/purple/aqua man i just can't get enough of that lol but ya i don't think you'll like the output of those ebay projectors =/

FIRST OFF I WANNA SAY THEY LOOK DAMNED GOOD!

now my question is how much did all that cost you because i was actually contemplating on doing something similiar, i have a 2k1 as well and i purchased some 2k2 maxima Headlights from ebay and they have just been sitting because i havent found time to go and slplice the wiring into my car
BUT now i think im gonna just let em sit and get the same people who did your to do mine

I only wanted to get the Low beam projector retrofit, turn signal retrofit, and the CCFLs around the projector and high beam. I was wondering if you knew how much it cost you ALL TOGETHER?

thanks man

ok so i've got the 03 SE with stock HIDS, but I want black headlights. I've looked on ebay, theres either the 01 style black headlights, or the 03 style angel eyes. Both seem to be crap, any DIY for blackhousing or a place to buy the 03 style black?

FYI: It would be in your best interest to use E46 projectors if you are trying to retrofit in place of the ebay projectors. They are smaller and require much less modification than the TSX projectors to fit into the ebay projector location. Their performance isn't quite as good as the TSX's, but they are almost 1/3 of the price.

Here's a pic of the Bosch e46 projectors:

i drove behind 05 acura tsx today, and it blew me away, when i just saw the way those projectors light the up the road, it made my HIDs look bad , but really those projectors are just amazing....how hard is it doing retrofit on 2k2 headlights? like the only part that iam scared of is, just HOW TO PUT IT IN THERE and make it stand still...the wiring and all that crap, iam not scared off (got one electrican here in my house "DAD") but yeah, how would i make them stick in there really good, would i have to make like my own brackets for it?....thanks guys

yup tsx projectors are awsome! this is my 3rd set here's mine in stock 02 headlights...

mine didn't use those angel eye things i just wanted it for the low beams. they are much better than the stock hid i had. but for those ebay projectors i think you should try those ece e46 they're like 100 bucks at hidplanet and they have nice sharp cutoff and nice output.
