Heated Seats - interesting Q!

I have a 2k SE, cloth seats.

Could I install heated seat elements in the cloth of these seats and hook them up with buttons from ebay or such?

Does the wiring already exist under the seat?

Thanks for your help.

IIRC the wiring is already under the seat. I think you can find it in the armrest console too. You'd need to purchase the switches from Nissan.

SAY WHAT?!
Oh, you mean the WIRING -- not the heat ELEMENTs in the seats, right?
I KNOW there is no wiring in the center console. I just had it apart last week. Not sure on the 00, but on my 02 there are two rect. squares next above the e-brake on the center console; this is where the Heat control switches are supposed to go for the seats. YOu guessed it: no wires underneath!

Again - this has my interest if anyone has converted from stock to heated, and can give instructions where to buy the parts on the cheap!

Yea, I know that there are empty harness(es) under the seat. Always assumed it was for the heating elements. I could be completely wrong, of course. If there's no wiring in the console then the car is not pre-wired for it like the foglights are.

Anyone know for sure? Anyone do the swap?

Also will it be ok through the cloth seats?

And does the switch have to be nissan? Or can it be any 3 position switch?

Well - I was SO curious, I just went out and unbolted my pass. seat~!

There IS indeed a SPARE molex connector underneath the seat integrated into the loom for the motors.

I CANNOT believe the seat would be "wired" with a heating element already in it, but strangely - I can't explain the unused molex either.

Somebody needs to enlighten me. I AM CURIOUS!

Okay - hold the phone....
It DOES make sense to have the LOOM pre-wired for the Heating elements - that is a manufacturing thing.
However - it makes NO sense for the seats to have the elements IN THEM and not utilize them!! DUH.

Now, we just need to figure-out if it's possible to ADD the heating elements INTO the seat bottom, and back without trading-out the ENTIRE seat!!!

This could be interesting....

Should have taken the center console out while you were at it!

well all you need as far as I know are a +12v wire, a ground, and 2 wires to the switches.

how about those ebay kits?

This is interesting - never seen it before.

Wonder if anyone else has done this on the .org??

Hmmmmm......certainly, powering these is not a problem - it's already there. But getting these on an adequate fuse and relay would be a good idea!

It can be done. I had purchased some heat pad elements for seats and meant to install them but never got around to it. The most difficult part would be to inlay them in the seat. The wiring should be pretty straight forward if you have a wiring diagram.

This looks pretty interesting, and it's that time of year. I'd recommend making your own harness rather than relying on preexisting wiring, though. If somebody could do a write-up for installing these...

So did anybody ever make that write up ? I did the swap from 01 cloth manual to 01 i30 heated leathers but just can’t seem to find a diagram to wire the heated element in on drivers side. Any info would help out lmk, every hand washes the other ✊🏾
