Tranny Question
I been lookin cant seem to figure out the problem. When I drive on the highway doing about 65 for like more than 15 minutes or so if I drive faster or harder it happens soooner...IT just kicks down a gear and rpms go through the roof feels like its kicked down a few gears...thats how high they go... Its a 00 GLE with 115k on it... Driven mainly street driving I tend to have lead foot....Im think the whole tranny is about to die out on me but not sure..thinkin I should have the whole thing rebuilt any body have any possible ideas? Thanks in Advance Josh
Can't begin to imagine what the problem maybe but it sure IS NOT normal. Could be something as simple as a selonoid or the tranny could be shot. A trip to a good tranny shop should be on the schedule. Good luck and let us know.
Hmm.....sounds somewhat similar to an issue I had in the past. At times I would turn the O/D off on my tranny while going up a hill or whatnot. I would turn the O/D back on afterwards and the tranny wouldn't shift. I found it was an issue with the tranny overheating. I installed a tranny cooler and it has been fine ever since.
+1
Sounds like what I've been experiencing myself.
Early last year my radiator started to leak from the top and bottom. I changed it out but bypassed my aftermarket trans cooler.
I hooked it back up when the car exhibited strange shifting behavior and have not had the problem since. I guess the replacement radiator i installed is not as efficient as oem.
