Question for electric component pros!

Heated Mirror relay:

I want to ask those who know what the relay looks like.

I opened up the main relay box in the engine bay. I have a white piece there (looks like the female half) of the relay. Is there suppose to be a blue/black cap on that white piece like the other relays in that box?

Any suggestions? Ultimate goal is to install heated mirrors.

Thanks!

You must be getting a posting to Alaska? The relay is a 1M type, color code Blue. They are cheap. I'm not sure if these cars are totally "prewired" for all the options.

Don't know what you mean by this.

Thanks, I'll see if schucks carries this part. I'm assuming the blue part completes the relay...it's a mystery that this blue part is missing...can't imagine Nissan putting in part of a relay in the heated mirror section. I'd like to fancy the stealership conspiracy.

I don't get this. You have a relay without it's blue cover installed now and you are sure that your existing mirrors aren't heated? When you hit the rear defrost button does this relay operate? There are two different versions of this relay. One has the contacts (4) in a cross layout and the other in a T.

Sorry for the bad quality, it's my cell phone. When I activate rear defrosters, the mirrors don't get hot. I open up the relay box, and this is what I see:

Looks like no prewiring. That looks like the terminal connector shell/relay receptacle only to me. I don't see the wire terminals.

Thanks!

I'll check out schucks or napa to see if they have what I need. So if it's not prewired, I wonder how much of a job it is to run wires...

that white thing is where the relay will go, but it does not look like there are any terminals in it, meaning you don't have heated mirrors or wrong location. you would probly have to buy the mirrors that are heated with the harnass and switches for it. I don't think that nissan sells those as a kit and it would be really expensive from Nissan--or take it to someone that knows how to wire them for you.

I bought the relay for about $27. I know it's expensive but I needed it. . .napa had an accessory relay that could have worked (?) for $13. Relay fits like a glove. Now I have to swap

I bought the eBay ones for $50 (LH). In all, It's about the price for an OEM mirror...
