What type of fuel do u use 02-03 maxima owners

hey, it seems like my service engine soon light turns on when i use 93 octane from Shell. The only reason i used it is because i heard its the best. I had a buddy turn it off like 4 times already. He told me it was probably the fuel i use, cause it was an O2 censor code. I changed it to 87 octane from shell since it still had 93 on it so it can mix and the service engine light turned off byt it self after a few days. So i was just curious if anyone else has had the same problem

why would your SES go on for using a higher octane? Manufacturer recommends premium anyway.. gas might be doing something, but it's not the cause of the light.

Replace the o2 sensor and your code will be cleared for good. It's not the gas, it's just a coincidence.

use premium like it says on the fuel door...then close the cap all the way.

Either its my mind playing tricks on me or whatever but for some reason V-Power (93) makes my car seem more sluggish. After going between Shell,BP, QuikTrip, and Costco gas I just use the BP since their prices are actually cheaper than Shell around me.

My car eats better than I do I swear.

Maybe you should actually have the code pulled instead of assuming it's the fuel causing the issue.
