2000 max now a six speed

Just upgrade my 2000 max to a six speed 2002 transmission done by my local mechanic Lenny's auto speed. Anyone thinking that your 5 speed just doesn't cut it, you will love the upgrade the stick throw is much closer than the 5 speed and I am able to 80mph at 2200 rpm so you know my gas mileage is better than 5 speed which turned 2800 rpm at 70mph.

Probably alot i'd say atleast 2500 bucks since tranny plus clutch flywheel plus you need to modify the flywheel. Also you gotta move alot of stuff out of the way. Then you need new shifter assembly since the 6 speed is cable shifted. That is unless he had this done on the side friend deal kind of stuff. Plus i wanna see some pics of this since he's new otherwise

Pics also, I've read too much about how much a headache this swap is. This is why I'm thinking 5 speed swap next year.

Why aren't some of you believing him? To swap a 6-speed into a 5th gen isn't exactly like rocket science, here....

Well I see that some think I am a liar, I 40 plus in age liars is for 18-25 age group my car is paid for and upgraded tokico illuminas, H&R springs, stillen strut brace & sway, frankencar coolair intake, greddy evo2 and some goodies.
I am a family man when you are the one paying for roof over your kids head fixing a car is less than a monthly car note. The diff was going bad on my 5 speed so yes I could just traded the car in and got a new car eat the lost of all the upgrades and pay all the dealer fee's title and taxes and bank interest for a car I will not know if I really like till you had it for six months. The price for the job will be between $4000-5000 I telling you now the car is better than before, if half you guys think about the money you pour into your cars and not montage's or rent you wouldn't be so quick shoot your mouth off. I will post photo's over the weekend the temp outside today 8 degrees I only freeze my *** off for my job and nothing else.

I hear you. I would love to be able to some of the mods others are doing, but I have a family, mortgage, college savings, braces, etc and that comes first. If I had my salary and lived with mom I would be driving a new Z06.

I wonder if she would take us all in?

1. My 6 speed (and I think most others') does 70 at 2200 rpms in 6th. Just sayin.

2. Considering the lack of details and pictures in thread, and the direction that the discussion has taken, I'm locking the thread. When you have pictures and more details, I'd be happy to let you start a new thread. Just send me a PM if you have questions. Thanks.
