How to video: Seafoam through Brake booster line

I wanted to do something to give back to the forum, since so many people/threads have helped me out over the past few months......

So I decided to create a:

"How to Video on using SeaFoam through the Brake Booster Line" and an "Affects Video", to show what SeaFoam actually does when used properly...

The video links last a little over 8 minutes each, with Part I showing how to use Seafoam, and Part II showing the "after affects" of the job you just performed...

http://www.mydeo.com/videorequest.as...2837&CID=68458

http://www.mydeo.com/videorequest.as...1866&CID=68484

A big thanks goes out to all the members to which have provided information to help make this video....especially Soonerfan, who's write-up was used as a reference in the making of this project.

Here are more related threads on how to apply SeaFoam to your vehicle:

Soonerfan's writeup

My little way of paying it forward....hehe...

Enjoy!

Nice work... should've had someone helping with the camera while you did the work. None the less good job.

After watching that video there is deffinately something wrong with my car, it's deffinately a lot slower than that, and what do you have done to it just a CAI? I'll try running some sea foam threw it tomorrow and see what that does then maybe clean my MAF again.

Thanks for all the props, everyone!

I enjoyed making this video and Im just glad I could give something back to the org community!! (albeit small)

As for the SES light, Im not exactly sure why it flashed during the process...but the good news is, after clamping the brake booster line tight, and restarting the car, it never came back on

So far, so good on that end...

As for anyone looking to do this project, since doing the cleaning, I must say, the throttle response has been absolutely amazing.....and I highly recommend everyone to try this atleast once!

I reset the ECU and the light went off. It has stayed off for about 50 miles so far. On a side note, if you have to get emission testing done and you have a SES, can you reset it right before you get there? I say that because everytime I hve a SES I reset the ECU and the light stays off untill I do something big again (Sea Foam, Headers) Also last time I was at the emission place the guy told me as long as there was no check engine light on the car would pass. Is any of this true?

If they connect to the computer and read the monitors, you will not pass. Reseting the ECU resets the monitors and ive seen it take anywhere from 15-150 miles to reset the monitors. On older vehicles you are allowed to have 2 monitors not set. I would ask about that before you go.

And whenever I get the chance to do this im going to connect my scanner and see exactly why the SES comes on during the process.

Well. Let's see how his engine performs in about a month. If he shoots a rod out of the block do you think it should be stickied?

Why would that happen? I've never read anything negative about doing Seafoam.

Anything could happen. Loosening up particles of carbon could do a number or things... Chances of it happening are slim but are there. Just because you see white smoke coming out of the exhaust doesn't mean a thing to me. I could pour marvel mystery oil into the motor and you would see the same result. Actually, come to think about it. Marvel mystery oil will actually do the same thing as that sea foam...Doubt the results would be instantaneous like the sea foam.

many people on here have done the seafoam without any major issues. the only thing to concern about is your o2 sensors if they are quite old there are chances that one or all of them going bad after the seafoam procedure. i believe there is nothing else to worry about.

My rear O2 is shot, so I'm not worried .

Question though: Would it be recommended I do this before or after my Header/VQ35 cam install? (Both are new parts)

I don't see any reason that it would make a difference but if I were you I would do it before. No particular reason.
