It's your torque converter locking up. Once you get up to speed the rpm will drop a bit when it locks. If you then press the gas pedal more or if there's more load on the engine like going uphill, it will unlock and the revs will jump up until you maintain a constant speed and load on the engine again. When that happens, the converter will lock again and the revs will drop a bit.

Maintaining a constant speed keeps the torque converter locked and gives you better mileage. Perfectly normal and has nothing to do with an idle adjustment.
