Starting Problem

I have a 2000 GXE that acts weird at times when I start it up. When i start it up, the RPM's will jump to about 2000 or so and gradually drop down to idle speed at around 600-700 when the engine warms up, but at times when i start the car up, the RPM's will jump to about 2000 but instead of gradually dropping, it drops below 500 and almost stalls out. It doesn't happen 100% of the time, but it has happened on cold starts and after like 5 minutes since the car has been off. Have any of you guys experienced this or might know what could cause this? Thanks.

IAC... MAF doesn't effect idle much, but rather when RPM is above 2500 or so
check your intake tubing and everything up to the TB to see if there are leaks

Could the fuel injectors be the cause of this if they were dirty or something? I just bought the car not too long ago, so i haven't had a chance to really check everything out yet. I checked all the obvious things, but not the involved things yet. Thanks for the advice.
