8000K bulbs for 5.5 are they any good?

hay guys, i was wondering if 8000k bulbs for 5.5 are much bluer then stuck or not. also if $90 for a pair is a fair price for them. does any1 have them installed. also they have an option of D2S or D2R and which1 is the right choice.

no. leave it stock. you won't be able to see the road with 8000k headlights and it's rice.

6000K is the highest I would go unless it's show car or something. We use D2R. D2S is for projector headlamps.

like 00MaxSE said, blue would be for show, and it would also have very little light out-put compared to the 3000k, which would light up the whole road!

I was originally supposed to purchase the mini H3 3k kit, but automax95 told me that techone discontinued them because they burnt out pre-maturely, but that the regular H3 would fit my housing...double check with him on fitment with your applications, but I say that they fit.

Well then I don't know what else to tell you except for you to PM automax95, and if he does not have the mini's available then check other g/b offers.

6000k is the best of both worlds.
go to www.nycmaximas.org and look for HIDS2000, he sells hid mini kit for the foglights for a great price.

My brother has 8K bulbs and the visability is pretty good I must say! 6K on my Max are awsome, but 8K defenately looks better! The visability in 8K seems like not as bad as people say!

What do you mean you changed it back to stock from 6K?? You mean you went from 6K to completely non-HID lights and the visability was better???

how often do you use your high beams? imo it's a waste to put in the high beams unless you drive with your high beams on all the time...turning them on/off quickly shortens their lives =/

i do have 6k. i was referring to the stock bulb being 4300k not the picture in my sig.

SPENCEDIGGY - dont worry i have the same problem. look at the picture of the grass in my sig...the drivers is yellower than the passengers...h3 mini defect?? who'd you purchase from?

back to main topic...dont go anything higher than 6k for headlights unless you have the fogs with HID as well..having both kinda makes up for it. Im thinking of switching both heads n fogs to 5k to see if the light output increases..just dont like the yellow of stock 4300k...well c.

you have an 03 so your headlights should be HID equipped already meaning you can just switch out the d2r bulbs for 6k. For the fogs, you would need to buy an HID kit. You can find what your looking for in the Group Deal section.
