I sucessfully put a 95-96 Greddy SP catback on my 2k2

Im cheep and i have my old 95 maxima with tons of mods done to it. anywho my wife drives it and does not really care what kind of exhaust is on it. So i took of the SP catback and am attempting to put it on my 2k2 and i measured everything out and everything lines up good even most of the hangers. Ill take pics of it when im done.

After the 2 resonators i had to cut the pipe and add a 1.5" piece weld her up and it fit perfect no rattles or clunks at all. Took about 4hours to do.

Now all I need is headers and Y pipe

I guess the biggest reason I did this was to save money but I also did not like the other exhaust tones out their. I loved the way my 4thgen sounded. I think my 2k2 has alot deeper tone though, this could also be because I do not have headers and Y pipe on it and I did on my 4thgen.

Anywho I hope this helps.

Don't mind my crappy weld job.
Like I said before it took about 4 hours to do.
All the hangers matched up perfect.

I have 2 video clips but do not know where to host them so if someone could help me out with that.

I cut behind the 2nd resinator and welded in a 1.5" piece of ss pipe.

Great job!

If possible - could you take a picture of the rear full view. I'd like to see what a non-watermellon shooter single pipe looks like on a 5/5.5 gen.

Awsome man.

Im gona run this setup with my hotshots and a test pipe.

Do you think I can get away without adding the 1.5 inch pipe?

Would the b-pipe hit anything or anywere?

Btw what do you mean by behind the second resonator. Is it just before the gas tank bend?
Were is it located cuase i might do it to the apexi WS catback and it only has one resonator..

Yeah its right before that bend. You could do it anywhere after the cat and before that bend. The reason of doing that is so it will stay in the stock place for the pipe. Mine does NOT rattle bump or clank at all. If you don't add that piece it will rattle and not fit very good at all.

If you need some pics or any other info let me know.

ya man if you can get some more pics that would be awsome.

So Fitmet around the axel and etc was good?

Im glad you did this, cause i was going to buy a franken car till I found out they dont make it anymore . And all the other exhausts for the 5th gen suck.

Im thinking of getting the apexi WS cause they make quality products and its the quietest exhaust that was made for the 4thgen. And i know headers bring out some noise so i want it as quiet as possible.

everything lines up perfect. Ill get some more pics for you tomarrow. Did you see the exhaust link above?

That is the main reason why i did that because i loved how quiet and deep the greddy sp catback is.

ill take and post the pics for you tomarrow.

That sounds pretty nice. I personally don't really like the sound the greddy puts out on the 4th gens but on your 5.5 gen it sounds great. I may have to consider that setup.
