Dim Door open light?

Yesterday night I noticed the light in the dash, the door open light, but it is not on like it would be when you actually have a door open, it is very dim and I don't know why it is on. No doors are open, but still there is a very faint light that is on. I recently did switch the "step lights" to LED's but I don't know why that would create the problem I have. Any insight would be great. Thanks.

the LEDs will do it. i have LEDs in the same place and mine does it. the LEDs take less power and dont "close the loop" between the door switch and the dash light.

Strange phenomenon, I thought there would be an opposite effect, like when the step light was on something would occur.

I had a similar problem with a couple of my dash lights a few weeks ago. I think I read somewhere on here that it has something to do with the circuit board having a bad diode. One of my dash lights would barely be on for a while, then it'd go away. A day or two later, a different dash light would barely be on. I think it is a common problem.

the door lights (and dome) are all part of the same loop.

Yep its an electrical problem...I had it too when I put in one of those dimming/compass mirrors with map lights instead of my stock mirror which was just autodim...I had it wired through the first map light, the one with sunroof controls too and I had the door ajar and trunk lights on at the same time. Now got it wired through the dome light and no door lights however my dome light doesnt come on when the doors are opened anymore, only the map lights and door lights.
