Ignition Amplifier, how does it work?

http://www.sfxperformance.com/parts/MSD6320.htm

just happened to pass by this. I just moved from a honda to a nissan.. way different in mods. so when i heard that we use coil packs with direct ignition. i decided to search for a ignition amplifier. Msd of course... just wondering what are the benefits of this.. and/or the non-benefits of having this

Basically just like an audio amp. Just increases the output. The benefits would be a more complete burn in the combustion chamber.

If you're having misfires I guess you would see a "gain". Like the other poster said, spend your money elsewhere

More for a better spark at high RPM when spark strength tends to be weaker.

I don't think that applies to OUR cars.

Even if that was true, for these car's it would be VERY minimally.

A non-benefit would be having less money to spend on other mods.

In any case, it's meant for ignition systems that use a distributor, so it's worthless for us.

I agree with this also. Our cars *probably* do not see a drop when the RPM's climb because most of us are shifting at 6.5K. However, high reving engines WILL see a benefit from using an ignition amp.

I guess it doesn't really matter to the OP tho. :|
