Intake manifold mod

I want to take this butterfly piece out of my manifold yet still have the option of putting it back in. So hacking it apart isn't an option. Any ideas what I should use to cover the hole.

Also the inside of my manifold was dripping wet with oil even though I have a catch can. I used parts from home depot. Maybe one off ebay would work better.

.... if you look at your butterfly you would notice that the butterfly is held on by two #2 phillips screws. If you want to put it back, just crew it back on. If you're doing this for power Im not sure how effective this is. When i tried it out I felt no difference at all after 4k rpm, but below that it felt less torquey.

If you want to do this for power, I suggest doing SSIM. Im sure there's people here that will tell you how do go about doing that (this is not a reversable mod).

beware, those screws are on there VERY tight...you might end up stripping them before they crack loose...thats how it was for mine

Why would you do that?

I as well as a few others have dynod this said mod to only realize that we lost a boat load of torque, but gained NOTHING after 3800.

Were these runs back-to-back by any chance? Just wondering.

I saw that too; that was an interesting result but I thought that was a pretty cheap shot he took at SR20DEN.

Hey I respect all of you guys over here, but unless I posted something else in that thread, I don't see how what I said was disrespectful to SR20DEN. Did he not post on maxima.org about selling his Secret Sauce Mod? I was also referring to removal of material from the IM and not just the valve as the mod he was selling.

I also believe someone from this website chimed in over at altimas.net how he purchased it from SR20DEN - let me provide the link:
http://www.nissanclub.com/forums/eng...ml#post2945443

I still don't see how I took a cheap shot if all I did was relay the truth.

I might have misinterpreted your comment then, so I apologize if that were the case. Regardless, you have PM at nissanclub. Thanks.
