Car wont start after clutch change
Very odd issue. We changed the clutch on my 2k Se.
The first time the car normally cranks right up...then if you turn it off and try to recrank it wont crank...maybe 30 minutes or so later it will.
It smells really bad of fuel too. Double checked that everything is still hooked back up.
We did remove the flywheel to have it turned, could that cause anything?

awww man, you're going to be yet another person saved by THIS THREAD! it's 12 pages long, it's caused by a poor ground between bellhousing and engine, solution is grounding wires, read the thread for more details, and since you cranked the **** out of it like I did, be careful if you hear a hissing sound from your exhaust afterwards when you hit about 3k+ rpm's, it means your mufler is filled with fuel, waiting to violently explode sending shrapnel onto the pavement and making you go deaf while you wonder what just happend to your car, it's pretty scary...........

umm maybe your starter is going bad? did you damage it when you removed it?
taking off the flywheel should have NOTHING to do with it.
what makes the engine crank is the starter alone. nothing else. if it's not working it's either your connection to it, the starter itself, or the flywheel somehow is stuck and the starter can't turn it(really unlikely).
take out the starter and bench test it(multiple times). it's obviously intermitant.
if it is the starter you can buy a rebuilt one off of me.
or rebuild it yourself there is a write up somewhere online.
or goto pepboys etc.
good luck.
it's your starter.

so it cranks all the time right? well it's either fuel spark or air. it would be a matter of figuring out which one of those it's not getting i would assume...
have you tried running it for a long period of time?
when it does run does it run fine? any hesitation or anything?
my money is on spark!

Sensor on front of tranny facing radiator. Crank position sensor (I think!) Make sure its connected. Maybe take it out and clean it off. Mine had lots of grime on it when I motor swapped. I read somewhere about it being super sensitive and to keep it from getting magnetized so clean it gently. Also did you put the metal plate back on the flywheel back side of the flywheel? Looks like a big gear with teeth. Its actually what the position sensor reads. Machine shop would have removed it to resurface flywheel so it may have been left off. Hope this helped because other than that and the few other items mentioned already there isn't much else.

Yeah the car starts, and we can leave it running for however long we want. But the entire time it smells really rich, and seems to have a miss in the idle, and when revving there is a vibration. I ran it for 15 minutes the other day, turned it off...and viola wouldnt start so I had to push it outa the way.

visually check (as best you can) to make sure that the timing ring lines up with the crank sensor, if for some odd reason it is off it will cause identical symptoms. Also, have you scanned the codes?
