Help! Stop the Squealing!!! Awful squeal when turning left

It squeals whenever I turn left, and usually at about 10 mph+ or over bumps. I've done the things I researched.
  • Installed a new bump stop cap and greased it up.
  • Pulled back the brake dust shield.
  • One of the shims was bent in toward the disc. Took it off, and bent it back into shape.
I do not think it's the wheel bearing, because it doesn't "mum", it is definitely a "squeal" sound. I recently put that goop on the back of the brake pads to make them stop squealing under low speed braking. The guy at my repair shop said that it might be that I put them back in a different way, and that I'll just have to sand or rub off the edges of my brake pads.

I didn't do it when we got some torrential rain yesterday, so I don't know if that helps.

It's driving me crazy! Any ideas?

I'm pretty sure it's coming from the driver's side front end. Car is stock.

I have a low groan when turning left at the same speeds, bumps or smooth. Sounds like driver's side too. I would appreciate any information once you get it figured out.

If you want to rule out the wheel bearing, jack the front up and try to move or slightly tug the wheel. If there is some play then, you should have the wheel bearing checked. If it's not a wheel bearing then check if you have a loose axle nut.

The last time I had these similar symtoms, i thought I had a bad bearing but it turned out that i need to have the drive axle splines re-greased. Now this is rare. But the fact that you mentioned rain brought up some bad memories because the squealing from the front end got worse when it rained. Again this is a remote possiblity so rule out everything else before checking the splines.

I sprayed the end links and surrounding area with PB Blaster, and the squealing stopped.

I was getting ready to replace the end links, and figured this would help when I actually start. This is definitely a nice bonus. No more squealing

I have the squeaking from driver side front, ONLY when turning all the way and going over bumps. Does anyone have anything similar or might know what might be causing the problem?

I just did the Brakes on My 2k Max. And i think its either the Shims on the back of the pads or the dust shield as i had a pain in the A** time doing them before i got the Caliper Piston tool. Plus i still had factory Orig Pads. So they didnt want to come off very easily.

Was there any resolution to this? I also have this squealing sound any time I turn my wheel. Originally it was only when I turned left, now I get it when I turn left or right. It is worse on cold days, on some warm days I rarely get it or if I do it get it, it's only right at cold startup and then not for the rest of the day. Also, on cold startup when I try and turn my wheel, in addition to the squeal, there is some EXTREME resistance on my wheel so that I am almost unable to turn. Any idea's please? Thanks guys.

Na, didn't stop. I'm going to try replacing the dust shields (if that's possible), and replacing the shims. Never ended up doing the end links.

High pitched squeal or "groan" squeal. If the latter, try greasing the caliper pin. Your pads may be sticking because the caliper isn't releasing properly.
