Haha funny i saw this cuz i just finished repainting my calipers and cleaning my rotors. I hadnt touched mine in about 9 months so there was some rust or rusted brake dust as sooner called it on there. I just sprayed it w/ brake parts cleaner and used a paint and rust removing attachement on my power drill. It came off after a few applications.

Well, here's the link i gave you in the suspension forum...

hmmm... oh i just thought of something else as well.. i noticed today that on my front right rotor, theres like a very slight indentaton going around in a cirlce as if the pads cut into the rotor at some point... bad?

Just paint over the rust or paint them before they do. I did those when i painted my calipers. If you get paint on the actual section of the disk that goes through the caliper it really doesnt matter as long as you dont put too much.
oh yeah those dots are grains sand and dirt.

I went to a place called RTP (race tech performance or something). They got me some powdercoated rotors (coated right where all the rust is) and they looked great. Took some time, and it's $25 extra per rotor for the coating, but they look great and it helps prevent rust!
Don't know how you can get in touch with them, but you can just paint the new rotors and you should be all set.

I dont have ainy rust on my rotors what so ever. When I did the upgrade to the 6th gen rotors/calipers I got all the rotors (which were used btw) and media blasted them.
Before and after pics can be found here

I then sprayed the rotor down with some high temp black paint which I followed up with a couple coats of high temp clear coat. Any area whch I accidently got paint on got taken off by my brake pads the first time I hit the brakes and the rest of the rotor is perfectly covered and protected from rust.

Actually a good coating of Armor-All on your rotors every few weeks works like a charm...
In all seriousness, I just ordered a pair of Brembo blanks with zinc coating. Supposedly they're going to prevent rust. We'll see.

yeah, i called like 5 auto zones and they all said they dont have anything to prevent rust... i dont wanna paint it any colors.. but could i put just a clearcoat of high temperature caliper paint on the parts that will rust and have that work? its not safe to put it on the entire rotor where the brake pads touch right?

Hey guys, I want to replace my brake system. I also have rust on my rotors. So I figured it would be a good time to replace everything. I, also, want to look into redoing the suspension. Does anyone know any good shops in the NJ/NY area? Or can anyone tell me where I can get all this done? I really want to do everything all at once.

There is a suspension sticky at the top of the page, probably plenty of Brake threads, and even a subforum for Suspension & Brakes .

Im applying mine this week. I have the same setup...brembo blanks and hawk HPS.
great stuff
just apply to the rotors where the pads wont meet. youll have enough to do the calipers too.

see the thing is i wanna do it soon... like tomorrow or saturday.. lol.. cause a little rust is already starting to form on one of them, and i wanna catch it before it gets too bad.. so i can't afford to wait for shipping cause i think its gonna rain this weekend.. will just a clearcoat of caliper paint work? or do i need to use paint first.. then a clearcoat on the rotors
