CV joint noise in the cold?
when its extremely cold here.......anywhere from about 15F to -20F, i noticed that my axles tend to make some squeaky noises when turning. normally i would just think the cv joint is going bad, but it only does it in the freezing cold.
does anyone else have this happen? is it possible that the grease inside the joints is freezing? im sure it isnt "good", but how bad is this for the car?
thanks in advance.

Ok I did get the same problem and the solution for it is hard to believe. First after few years the grease inside the CV joint gets too dry. When it's cold that grease gets too hard and doesn't do is job. It's like having a dry CV joint. You just have to open the boot remove all the old grease and put good synthetic CV joint grease. They did it on my car and it's Ok for now.
