Need help: Strut Plates

Im havin KYB-GR2's struts put on and after the first test run, they sounded like chit.....

We took them back off, figuring something was wrong, put them back on like normal, and did another run....

The same thing happened!!....

Well, first thoughts are that it might be the OEM strut plates I bought from a local Auto store.....I got the KYB's without the strut plates, so I had to order them seperate...

My question is,

Is it ok to use OEM strut plates with KYB struts?

....cause man, it really sounds like somethings wrong, rather than just "settling"

Please help, asap!!

Ty!

Use OEM mounts they will last MUCH longer than the KYB ones.

Exactly where did you put this shims and what was you shim, a washer perhaps?
I ask because I get some clunking up front, and I have done everthing to help get rid of this. I am beginning to think it is just my illuminas making this noise until they are warmed up.

Well can't just "trust" you. I got a noise in my front right strut mount, probably bushing/bearing going out, so I bought KYB mounts to replace both of them anyhow. Sooo...where are you getting your info?

Experience. And search on the org, others have noticed that the KYB mounts dont last as long as well.

Yeah, just two or three washers on each side of the Upper Strut Mounts....underneath the nut that ties the tip of strut to the mount itself.....

Its an easy fix if you know what you're doing.....hope it helps!
