sunroof visor

Im considering getting one of those sunroof visors ...is it worth it? How hard is it to put on? Do I have to drill holes in my roof?

Easy to install, no drilling, but yeah I've heard of paint damage

it'll stain the paint or something after leaving it on for long time that's what i've heard...but i wouldn't get it because it looks ugly...the car looks much cleaner without any of those stuffs. plus it'll create more wind noise...not sure if the sunroof one will create more wind noise but i've had those window ones and i notice there's more wind noise when driving on the fwy.

dont do it.
i removed the one that my car had when i bought it and the paint is all scratched.
it is a WIND deflector...not a SOUND deflector. there is actually less wind SOUND without it.

I had one stock and when I removed it there was a permanent mark on the area it was sitting on.

plus it looks ugly.

I am hesitant to take mine off. I bought the car with it and I assume that it came from the dealer w/ it. How badly are the markings/scratches? Is it an easy removal? I could definitely do with out it.

it's definitely there. Buffing will not take it out.

If that is the case... It's best to leave it. I have it and will not even think about taking it off for fears of what it will look like when I do.

nope will def not come off...mine had one previously. It was removed before I bought the car. I did a FULL exterior detail today (Wash, Claybar, Full Compound, Wash, Polish, Wax)...I concentrated alot on the marks from the visor. The marks somewhat stayed. Its not that bad...but its def there. I would def recommend not to install it. If its there, Leave it.

I bought a cheap universal visor for my 96 max, and it was noisy and the mounting strips started to streach so it would move at highway speeds.

Now I have a Nissan factory visor on my 2000, it's quiet and looks great; completes the black on black look.

Yeah I am afraid to remove it cause of how ****ted up the roof will be. Even though my roof is already scratched up...previous owner must of put a christmas tree on it or something totally retarted...the visor doesnt bother me too much so i guess ill leave it...

Hey toneboat.........To bad you don't live closer or you can HAVE MINE....(sitting in my garage collecting dust)That was the first thing I took off the car two years ago when I got my 01 pearl max....It left a small mark in the paint but after some bug/tar remover and scratch/ buffer later it doesn't appear noticeable. You really have to look at the car to see the "lines" it left.. Definetly looks better without it as it is a pain in the A$$ to clean around every time you wash you car....

How do you take it off...do you just unscrew the two screws at the top, and pull back to unclip it from the sunroof? I may consider doing this when the weather gets warmer...

I took mine off, as soon as the car was in my driveway from the dealer. you just need a philips if i remember correctly. and there is only two metal brackets holding it to the roof, so its not like its drilled into there. ( can't remember )

took a couple of minutes to do

and yes it was very dirty, and the mark has not come off. but it looks better, and people don't look at my roof anyway.

The car definitely looks better without it and it will screw up the paint, but it does make the open sunroof much more comfortable.

Like reeloop said all you need is a philips screwdriver to remove the two screws which hold the bracket under the front lip of the sunroof frame... After removing mine I used some touch up paint as the metal brackets were taking its toll on my paint... Looks good now after some elbow grease and scratch x from meguairs....
