Well, this weekend me and my friend who has a nice white 2001 5-speed SE decided to go on a road trip to Atlantic City to do a little gambling. Anyway, to make things short, I ended up driving his car for a good 150 miles and had several times off toll booths to push his car hard (he actually wanted me too). I will say this, my TL-S feels a bit stronger from 0-100mph than the max, but after that, I say the max is a bit stronger than my TL-S. Honestly, I really could not believe how strong the max was after 100 mph. I loved how aggressivly geared 4th and 5th gears are in the max ( in comparison to my TL-S where 4th and 5th are overdrive gears). I ended up doing nearly 130 mph and there was still a good amount of pull in 5th gear.
After driving both cars I have to say they have unique feels to them and comparing them really is not fair. They are definitely two completely different breads of animals. For anyone who has driven both cars, you will know exactly what I mean.

don't forget that your car is auto and the max you drove is manuel so there must be a little difference between them, pesonally i think that the type S is also a very nice car with some accersories the max doesn't have but overall you can say that performecne is almost the same...thanks for sharing that BTW
