Traded my 02 Max 4 a 07 Altima but already...

Yup i traded my Max 4 another nissan about two weeks ago. I chose to get a 07 altima 3.5 SE fully loaded with navi. Silver with black interior. I decided to get the Cvt trans bc im not into the whole shifting everytime. It runs smooth with plenty of torque. Stiffer than my 02 Max Se but i love it . But a week and 2 days after having it an AHole from my skool rear ended me. It wasnt that serious and everyone was ok. The kid was behind me and we both were on our way to skool when i had to slow down bc a lady turned into my lane so i slowed down then SMACK he hit my car . When the officer came the kid said he turned around to say something to his friend and when he turned back around he saw me braking and he tried to brake but it was to late. Well here is a couple of pics of my new yet injured baby. All i have is pics of the damage. Didnt have the car long enough to take pics of it to show it off. The police report should finaly be ready tom to show it to insurance

Thats not as bad if someone in a SUV rear ended you... an new bumper cover and muffler will do you good. The same thing happened to me when my friend rear ended me in my mom's explorer. New bumper cover and tail pipe...$1200 in parts/labor tho.

Sorry to see that you didn't even have the car for 2 weeks and someone hit you...just flat out sucks.

Even if you were into the 'whole shifting everyime'......
I thought those 2 options (fully loaded/Navi & Manual Tranny)weren't available w/ each other, i.e, impossible to get them both?

Well my 5th Gen was auto and the diff is noticable. B4 i got my actual altima they gave me another 3.5 altima as a loaner till mine came in. That one i test drove the shyt out of it. I love the power compared to my other max. Im not saying its a huge diff but def noticable. The feel of the steering is smoother yet stable. I love the ride bc its stiffer than the 5th gen SE but still confortable. I feel more confident taking the same turn at the same speed than i did with the max just bc it has a lot less body role and has stiffer suspension compared to the max. It has so much more space inside as well compared to the max and the interior is so much better looking. My mom has an 06 altima 3.5 SL fully loaded as well and the interior is like night and day. The leather seats are better and the interior alone has better quality materals. All in all the car is fast, smooth, end beautiful. But the tradition auto does feel more torque while the CVT is so smooth. I love it. No regrets at all

Wao., sorry man an do feel the Pathy thing. I worked to feed that thing with all the gas it drank.

18 and with an 07 Altima. Must be nice. At 18 I bought a brand new car too, but all I could afford was a Chevy Cavalier and even that hit hard. LOL

Hope she's as good as new when you get her back.

I'm 22 and at one point was paying for both a Maxima and a FX35. Now I'm payment free since I'm saving up for a new car and don't drive that much besides school. I know a lot of people my age who make even more money than me...but usually at the expense of an education.

I can't even afford that.

Nice pick on the altima. Did you happen to test drive the 6-speed? I think if you did you would have loved it. That car is so much fun and the transmission/suspension/engine/interior IMO is a huge leap over the 5.5 gen max.

As long as you got a police report you should be ok.....sorry to hear man.
I was mad scared to drive my bro's Tl when he first got it for this same reason.
I waited for him to get a good 1 - 2 k miles on it before i started driving it.

I hear you on the working hard for paying for your own stuff. Im 18 in HS, yeah i have a modded 4th gen, not worth much, although i did buy it when i was 16. Cost me 8K though. Now im in gr 12, people think my parents paid for my car, and stuff, now i basically have an 01 Corvette 6MT(not a z06). Ive liked the car for so long, but couldnt afford it, me and my dad went halfs on it, and im starting to pay off his half of it. I plan on paying him off in full, while insuring it and paying for gas.

Other then that, i worked more then 40 hours a week in the summer washing cars, every day(no lie 14-15 days straight), 9am till 9pm a lot of the times. Still even in gr 12, im working 30 hours a week while going to school, its tuff but im almost done.

Congrats on the car the new altimas are very nice, I would have gotten a 6MT version but the CVT's are pretty nice too.

In high school I worked 40 hour weeks and also went to school. I made a ****load of money that all went to insurance ($390/month with no tickets/wrecks) plus paying my grandparents back for buying my car (they paid it off so that we didn't have to finance). Try doing the same thing in college....let's just say it probably won't happen unless a.) you live at home and dont have to pay for bills/necessities or b.) you're doing school part-time.

MO POWER to you and to the parents that help out... I will surely buy my son an 07 Altima when he hits driving age and is doing well in school. Of course by then it would be 10 years old and cheap. BUT i will still buy it for him. 18 year olds should NOT be driving new cars.

But if you do., mo power to you and enjoy...
