In the middle of suspension install....
I am in the process of installing eibachs and tokico illuminas on my 02 se and i have a few questions. First is it bad if i accidentally turned the rear strut rod around and around when i was trying to tighten the top hat bolts? second i couldnt get the nylon lock nut that is the stock top hat bolt to go on the rear tokicos so i used the two nuts that they supplied with the struts along with some thread locker. will this work because i cant figure out how to stop the strut rod from spinning when i try to use the lock nut. third, is there an orientation to the rear top hats like there is in the front? Finally, i didnt have to compress the eibachs in the rear. is this normal? and when putting the top hat bolts on, it seemed like they got all the way to the bottom of the threads on the strut rod, so i didnt torque them that tight.
Thanks
Thanks
Rear strut rod can spin as much as you want. There should be a nut on the rod itself that you can slip a wrench on through the spring coils to hold the rod while you tighten the nut.
The orientation is that the two mounting bolts on the top hat are parallel with the bottom strut bolt.

yea, when i installed my suspension last sunday, at first it kept spinning...so i just grabbed a pair of long nose vise grips and the wrench....held the top of the strut nipple with the vise grips and just tigihted down the nut. worked perfrectly. i have tokico blues with Tien S tech....Great combo!!!!
