Illumina Question

are illuminas more likely to blow when it is cold out/bumpy roads when they are set to 5 versus say like 4 or 3? also, how likely are they to blow in general? considering minnesota temps/road conditions?
Just a few thoughts i had.
Thanks

Buy them and get the 2 year warranty. Stop being paranoid.

I've had mine on for half that time, and have yet to see a problem. roads are not great around ehre, adn the temps aren't extreme, but it isn't Florida either.

It is / was very cold here (Philly PS) this past winter and I had no problems at all with my Illuminas. Settings (2 front 3 rear) on Eibachs.

But, then again they would blow in a few days if lazy tech school wanna be mechanic used vice-grips to turn them on the silver piston part that says on a bright orange decal "DO NOT TOUCH or use any tools" on a Blue shock / sturt when they are mounting them. IDIOT!
Dont ask it was on my HP Blues, and I upgraded to illuminas "on them".

Oh and the roads in Philly and S. Jersey have to be the worst in the world! (Worse than Boston & NY, I have been to both with my Max, nice citys with better roads.

BTW - If anyone wants to have a true suspension test try a run down a true crappy road. Please drive threw "Old City" in Center City Philly. LOL Can you say 1776 Colossal Size Colonial Cobble Stones + with eibach drop = Kidney killers, UGH.

Just get the illuminas and you will be very happy with them. I have driven threw "old city" in the winter with my set up and have not had any issues.

I am sorry but NY streets are worst then philly and jersey. Boston streets run a very close second. I use to drive to ny all the time and those streets are horrible. I don't have illuminas but my blues did just fine in the cold temps of Boston. Now I am in Florida and the roads here are smooth as glass.....

I agree..NYC streets are horrible. It really pisses me off. I have illuminas and even they cant alleviate these bumps and mine are set on the softest setting...setting 1 on all 4 struts

I would think setting 1 on all fours would be "underdampened" and result in a harsh/bouncy ride. You should dial it up at least one (even for a more comfortable ride).

I'm riding on 5/5 in this harsh winter and my illumina's are fine. In general, the stiffer setting wears out the struts faster.

A no longer "so call friend" did the work for me at a shop he worked and at he "jacked-up" my HP Blues.
The shop (Not giving name) was very cool about the mistake and repaired everything for free. They said it was a "new tech training issue" I even upgraded to the illuminas for nothing.
