fuel filter on a 2k3 maxima se?

where is the fuel filter located on a 2003 SE? I went through from the tank to the injectors and could not find it. is there one on the car? or is it in the fuel tank? can anyone spare some advice? sorry about the noob question.

im pretty sure its in the tank. are you going to replace it for preventative maintenance or just curious? i thought that they were not to be serviced unless needed to be, correct me if im wrong.

i wanted to change it because. my car at idle seems to struggle for gas. i wanted to start with the most simple thing and work from there.

1. nissan calls it a "non-maintenance item" but people on here disagree
2. yes, its in the sending unit in the gas tank. you access it from under the rear seat
3. there are plenty of threads about this...including write-ups for replacing it.

thats really not the most simple place to start.
it could be many things...my pick - dirty injectors or throttle body

it's intank and most of the time, you don't replace it unless you're replacing the fuel pump.

pressurized injector cleaning service does wonders.

spark plugs,
FYI, mods can not be listed vertically (bullets) in a sig. it takes up WAY to much room

Never, ever go to the dealer for anything other than warranty service.

What happens at idle that makes you think you're fuel starved?

If your problem is an idle or low power issue but the engine runs happily at higher power (example... on the highway) then it isn't starving for fuel which eliminates a fuel filter/pump problem.
