Jerky/Sticky Clutch

I have a 2000 GXE that I drove today for the first time in about a week and a half and noticed something different about my clutch pedal. It started perfectly normal, but after a second start up coming from the store, the clutch starting acting weird. When pressed, it moves smoothly but as it is pressed all the way, I feel some restriction and it also produces a squealing noise. It continued as I was on my way home and now it seems that if I press the clutch quickly it feels okay except when it's about all the way down. But it feels jerky and unsmooth-like while making a squealing noise if i press it down slowly. I hope I am making some sort of sense. Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks.

you didn't state the mileage but if it's a 2000 like mine and has neevr had a clutch replaced (like mine again) this could defintly be a sign that its just wearing out. the "jerky/rough feeling" is a huge indicator the clutch is on its way out. might want to throw in some new gear oil for one last option tho.

Sounds like the throwout bearing starting to go. Looks like a clutch job is in your future. Changing the gear oil won't do anything for your clutch problem. It's a totaly seperate system. You will change the gear oil since you have to drain it to remove the tranny for the clutch job.

Thanks for your inputs, and i'll keep them under consideration. I have about 91K on the car by the way. If it is the clutch that is acting up, won't the problem be consistent? The reason I ask is that I drove it to work this morning and everything was perfect and as smooth as it can be, but about 10 minutes later, then it started acting up. You guys think that the problem surfaces once the clutch is being stressed upon usage? Thanks. And if it does turn out that I need a clutch job, how much should that usually run?

i agree with the throw out bearing possible being on it's way out, what about the pressure plate? possible warped in a section causing a uneven grab on the surface?
