Got P0140 code need help on current procedure

OK So I have a 2000 SE with 116k miles that I just purchased. A couple of days ago I get the SES light. I take it Autozone and they tell me it's a P0140 code identifying sensor 2 bank 1.

I have had a chance to read several posts and I have a general understanding of what I need to do. Change the sensor of course but it also seems that I would need to get the ECU flashed once the sensor is changed out......Is this still correct because I have read about O2 sims as well. I'm a little confused about which procedure I am to do.

Thanks

Walt

I don't think you need a reflash with a rear sensor. You could go for a sims for the rears if you want. Do you know if all your sensors are original? If so, expect all of them to go soon.

Kenshi,

No I don't know if they are all original. I am going to assume that they are.

No need for a reflash is good news though.

I am also trying to figure out if I want to change the MAF. Now once you change the MAF don't you get a reflash. If so then it would be wise to go ahead and change the sensors and MAF at once then have the reflash. the car seems really sluggish between 2-3k rpm.

Other wise it runs nicely.

I was mistaken. You should probably get a reflash when you change that sensor. Sorry.

you should take it to the dealer and see if your ecm p/n is available for a REPROGRAM to take care of the 140 code. before you just throw a sensor at it

At a 116k miles, new sensors are probably a good idea.
